Astana, Kazakhstan — July 31, 2024 — Yesterday, at the initiative of the WHO Country Office in Kazakhstan, an Interdepartmental Working Group on Parenting Support was established in Kazakhstan.
The group includes representatives from governmental, non-governmental, and international organizations. The main goal of the group is to coordinate activities in the field of parenting support, jointly develop recommendations, and agree on approaches.
The creation of this group is an important step towards a comprehensive approach to parenting issues. The issue of supporting parents is relevant and requires the combined efforts of all departments related to education, upbringing, healthcare, information support, and social protection.
The work of the Interdepartmental Group is supported by the National Commission on Women’s Affairs and Family-Demographic Policy under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
“The relevance of the issue of parenting support is undeniable. Today, many problems have accumulated in this field, which need to be addressed by combining the efforts of all interested parties. We are confident that the work of the group will be useful in developing the necessary recommendations and agreeing on approaches to the issue of supporting responsible parenting,” noted Zhuldizay Iskakova, Deputy Chair of the National Commission.
It is planned that the work of the Interdepartmental Group will be ongoing, involving all interested parties.
