From May 12 to 16, 2025, Kazakhstan will host the National Reproductive Health Week, held under the auspices of the National Commission for Women Affairs, Family and Demographic Policy under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The initiative is organized in partnership with the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Culture and Information, as well as with the support of NGOs and international organizations.
The campaign aims to strengthen public awareness and education in the field of reproductive health and family planning. Its objectives include cultivating a culture of health consciousness, preventing diseases, and improving access to reliable information for youth, parents, and all citizens of reproductive age.
Key topics of the Week will include:
● Conscious and responsible parenthood
● Prevention of sexually transmitted infections (STIs)
● Reproductive health of both women and men
● Protection against the human papillomavirus (HPV)
Urgency of the initiative:
According to UNFPA, over 60% of adolescents aged 15–19 in Kazakhstan are not aware of methods to prevent unintended pregnancies and STIs.
The prevalence of these infections among the adult population is estimated to be 3.5 times higher than official statistics, and new HIV cases among adolescents nearly doubled between 2017 and 2023.
Cervical cancer remains one of the most common forms of cancer among women in Kazakhstan.
Nationwide Engagement:
Throughout the week, a wide range of activities will be held across the country, including press conferences, open house days at medical institutions, thematic lectures, workshops, and online expert sessions.
Schools, colleges, and universities will host educational extracurricular events for students.
Social media and mass media platforms will actively feature expert commentary from doctors, bloggers, and public figures. Educational materials will be distributed both digitally and in print.
Special Focus:
Particular attention will be given to:
● Young people
● Men and women of reproductive age
● Parent communities
● Persons with disabilities
All activities will be promoted using unified hashtags:
#СалауаттыҰрпақ2025, #ЗдоровоеПоколение2025, #RepHealth2025, #SalauattiUrpaq2025

● UNFPA, WHO, UNESCO
● NGOs such as the Council of Mothers of the APK, the Union of Fathers, the Association of Women with Disabilities “Shyrak”, the National Volunteer Network,
