Kazakhstan Unveils TechnoWomen Stamp: "The Digital Future Is with Us"

On April 25, 2025, in celebration of International Girls in ICT Day, a ceremonial cancellation of a new postage stamp in the “Digital Kazakhstan” series was held under the theme “Women in the Digital World.” The stamp, titled “TechnoWomen: Цифрлық болашақ – бізбен бірге” (The Digital Future Is with Us), was initiated by the TechnoWomen non-profit organization in partnership with Kazpost JSC.

Efforts to engage girls and women in digital and technology-driven industries are actively supported by the National Commission for Women Affairs, Family and Demographic Policy under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Aziza Shuzheyeva, Chair of the TechnoWomen Board and member of the National Commission, stated:

“Promoting cutting-edge technologies and motivating girls and women to gain digital skills is essential. These skills offer new career opportunities, economic empowerment, and greater personal effectiveness. According to global analysts, by 2030, IT will become a mainstream career path for women. That’s why Kazakhstan is now focused on promoting digital literacy among women, supporting female IT entrepreneurship and e-commerce, and integrating women into the AI-driven economy.”

She noted that under the auspices of the National Commission, several flagship projects have been implemented in recent years, including “IT-Aiel,” “Cyber Safefor Family,” “SheInnovator,” “Robotechnogirls,” and “TechGirls.”

Altogether, over 18,000 girls and women across Kazakhstan participated in these programs during 2023–2024.

Asel Zhanassova, Chair of the Board of Kazpost JSC, highlighted the modern design and message of the new stamp, which reflects the image of a Kazakh woman who harmoniously combines national heritage with technological innovation.

“The TechnoWomen community was born from a simple yet powerful idea — to create a space where every woman can realize her potential in technology, science, and entrepreneurship.”

“A postage stamp is more than just an accessory to a letter — it’s a symbol of recognition, connection, and continuity. The TechnoWomen stamp is a tribute to all those who have opened doors for women in STEM, and a symbol of solidarity and progress that will travel the world carrying the spirit of sisterhood and innovation.”

Bikesh Kurmangaliyeva, co-founder of TechnoWomen, emphasized the critical role of artificial intelligence:

“AI can become a driver of economic growth. That’s why it is so important today to encourage women to explore AI applications and integrate new technologies into all fields and professions.”

“It’s inspiring to see such a progressive theme being promoted in Central Asia under the TechnoWomen banner, which is making a valuable educational and practical contribution to women’s participation in digital transformation.”
