Women’s Entrepreneurship Development in Asia Discussed in Baku

On 14 April 2026, within the framework of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia, an international conference on “Development of Women’s Entrepreneurship and Improvement of Legislation” was held in Baku. The conference agenda focused on expanding women’s economic opportunities and strengthening their role in socio-economic development.

The conference brought together representatives of more than ten countries, including Türkiye, Uzbekistan, Pakistan, and Mongolia. Kazakhstan was represented at the event by Zhanna Baidasheva, Member of the National Commission, Founder of the Global Businesswomen Council, and Director of the Association “Kazakhstan Council of Foreign Investors” under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

During the first panel session, participants discussed the use of artificial intelligence and digitalization in the small and medium-sized business sector, government support measures for women’s entrepreneurship, as well as practices related to concessional financing, grant programmes, and the simplification of business registration procedures. The session was moderated by Ms. Hijran Huseynova, Chair of the Committee on Family, Women and Children Affairs of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The second panel session focused on women’s leadership in environmental sustainability and responses to contemporary challenges. The discussion centered on women’s participation in advancing the green agenda, developing sustainable communities, and shaping long-term development strategies.

In her remarks, Ms. Zhanna Baidasheva emphasized that the development of international platforms for dialogue among government institutions, business, and the expert community creates conditions for practical solutions aimed at expanding women’s economic opportunities and also contributes to strengthening partnership among countries in the field of women’s entrepreneurship and innovation-driven development.

At the conclusion of the conference, participants reaffirmed the importance of further strengthening international cooperation, exchanging experience, and developing practical mechanisms to support women’s entrepreneurship at both regional and international levels.
