“Salamatty Kazakhstan” Train: 104,250 Rural Residents Received Free Medical and Social Assistance
The social project was implemented through collaboration between the National Commission on Women’s Affairs and Family and Demographic Policy under the President of Kazakhstan, Samruk-Kazyna JSC, and the Ministry of Healthcare of Kazakhstan.
Today, the work of the “Salamatty Kazakhstan” medical train has concluded. Over the course of eight months, residents of 140 remote settlements across 17 regions received free medical, social, and legal support. Of the 104,250 Kazakhstani citizens who received assistance, 23,282 were children. The project involved 40 professionals who provided approximately 240,000 consultations and conducted 7,671 minor surgeries. These results were announced at today’s press conference held at the Central Communications Service.
The project’s medical team provided assistance to 101,301 individuals, which is 12,000 more than last year. This year, the medical train was equipped with updated devices for echoencephalography, mammography, and X-ray examinations. The team was also expanded with specialists, including a traumatologist, psychologist, pediatrician, and members of mobile brigades.
For the second consecutive year, mediators and lawyers were involved in the project on the initiative of the National Commission on Women’s Affairs and Family and Demographic Policy. They addressed 2,949 complaints from citizens, including 1,298 submitted by women. The specialists worked to resolve local legal and labor disputes. Flexible loan repayment schedules amounting to 260.7 million tenge were developed for 481 individuals, including debts to microfinance and collection organizations. Mediation efforts led to the resolution of 26 civil and 27 criminal cases.
For the first time this year, 18 charitable concerts featuring artists from the R. Baglanova Kazakhconcert State Concert Organization were held near the train at remote stations, supported by the Ministry of Culture and Information of Kazakhstan.
“Salamatty Kazakhstan”: The National Commission Helped Resolve Social Issues for Nearly 3,000 Residents
On the initiative of the National Commission on Women’s Affairs and Family and Demographic Policy under the President of Kazakhstan, mediators and lawyers have been providing assistance to the population for the second year as part of the “Salamatty Kazakhstan” project. This year, the specialists addressed 2,949 complaints and worked to resolve local legal and labor disputes.
Flexible repayment schedules amounting to 260.7 million tenge were developed for 481 individuals, including 404 problematic loans and 77 debts to microfinance and collection organizations. This initiative allowed residents to manage their debts conveniently and on time.
Mediation efforts led to the resolution of 26 civil and 27 criminal cases. Additionally, 12 claims were filed for unpaid alimony totaling 9.66 million tenge. The mediators and lawyers prepared 120 legal complaints on various socio-labor and legal issues, providing residents with essential support.
In total, 104,250 citizens benefited from the project, including 101,301 who received medical assistance and 2,949 who sought help from mediators and lawyers.
During consultations, special attention was given to mothers with many children, women raising children with disabilities, and those in difficult life situations. Regional commissions on women’s affairs and family policy organized transportation for residents of remote villages to the medical train, while rural and village akims participated in addressing pressing issues. Consultations were provided on pension and social benefits, alimony arrangements, calculation of work experience, admission to educational institutions, business grants, obtaining kandas status, and access to land plots.
At the Shyganak station, the rights of two children born in 2016 and 2020 were protected. Mediators facilitated an agreement for a payment of 14 million tenge to cover the children’s needs until they reach adulthood.
In the village of Altai, a long-standing issue involving the demolition of an unsafe house for a pensioner and her daughter with a disability was resolved. The “Salamatty Kazakhstan” project’s lawyer and mediator assisted in filing an application through the “E-Ötinish” system, negotiated with the district akim’s deputy and architecture department specialists. As a result, an act on the demolition of the house was issued, and the family was placed at number 15 on the list for new housing allocation.
