IX National Fathers’ Forum Held in Kyzylorda

On November 1, 2024, the IX National Fathers’ Forum titled “Upbringing Begins at the Cradle” was held in Kyzylorda. The event was organized with the support of the National Commission for Women Affairs, Family and Demographic Policy under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Culture and Information, the Akimat of Kyzylorda Region, and the Republican Public Association “Union of Fathers.”

The primary goal of the forum was to strengthen the role of fathers in child-rearing and to emphasize their importance in the family and society. The forum gathered representatives of the intellectual community, experts in family policy, representatives of international organizations, regional leaders of the Republican Union of Fathers, officials from local executive bodies, representatives of NGOs and the media, as well as over 150 delegates from across the country.

On the first day, participants visited the notable sites of Kyzylorda and explored new social facilities. The second day featured sectional discussions and concluded with a plenary session held at the “House of Friendship.”

The plenary session was attended by Deputy Akim of Kyzylorda Region Shakhmardan Baymanov; Chairman of the Republican Public Association “Union of Fathers” Maksutbek Aitmaganbet; UNFPA Representative in Kazakhstan Rakhimbek Sisemaliev; Chairman of the Association “Qazaqstan Ardagerleri” Bakhytbek Smagul; Director of the Department of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Meruert Medetbekova; Deputy Chairman of the Youth and Family Affairs Committee of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan Birzhan Alimzhanov; Head of the Department of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports Zhandos Maksutuly; and founder of the Family Academy, family psychologist Yerzhan Myrzabayev.

Deputy Akim of the region, Shakhmardan Baymanov, conveyed greetings from the Akim of Kyzylorda Region, Nurlybek Nalibaev, highlighting the importance of instilling family values and honoring the sacred family hearth for the younger generation. He also summarized the activities undertaken in the region to promote spiritual and moral upbringing.

During the forum, an initiative was proposed to enhance the status of the Council of Fathers and continue holding such events in other regions of the country.
