From June 24 to June 28, 2024, Reproductive Health Week will be held nationwide under the auspices of the National Commission for Women, Family and Demographic Policy under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The aim of the event is to raise public awareness about the importance of reproductive health and to promote a healthy lifestyle.
The objectives for creating conditions to protect the reproductive health of men and women are outlined in the Concept for the Development of Family and Gender Policy in the Republic of Kazakhstan until 2030.
Reproductive Health Week aims to address issues such as low awareness among adolescents about the importance of reproductive health, methods of preventing unwanted pregnancies and sexually transmitted infections (STIs), the rising prevalence of HIV and STIs, and the need for the prevention of human papillomavirus (HPV) which causes cervical cancer.
During the week, various informational and educational events, open days at health centers, free medical examinations, and consultations for adolescents will be organized.
Government agencies, international organizations, NGOs, and media personalities will actively participate in the campaign. The primary target audience includes youth and adolescents, men and women of reproductive age, as well as healthcare and education professionals.
