National Forum in Akkol: Unlocking the Potential of Rural Women

On 4 December 2025, the national forum “Rural Woman: Unity. Development. Future.” was held in the city of Akkol. The event was organized by the National Commission on Women’s Affairs and Family and Demographic Policy under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, together with the political party Auil and the Akimat of Akmola Region. The forum brought together around 400 women and representatives of various organizations from across the country.

The main goal of the forum was to enhance the economic potential of rural women, promote the exchange of best practices, and strengthen their leadership and entrepreneurial capacities. The event became an effective platform for dialogue aimed at expanding the role of women in the socio-economic development of rural regions.

The forum opened with an exhibition showcasing agricultural products, handicrafts, and goods produced by local entrepreneurs, where participants could see the results of the work of rural businesswomen.

In their welcoming remarks, Deputy Akim of Akmola Region Altynai Amrenova and Member of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of Kazakhstan Yerbolat Saurykov highlighted the vital role of women in rural communities and the importance of supporting female entrepreneurship.

Deputy Chair of the National Commission Lyazzat Suleimen emphasized:

“Strengthening the socio-economic standing of rural women is a key priority of state policy. Our task is to create conditions for the full realization of their potential and the expansion of their economic opportunities.”

During the plenary session, experts, successful entrepreneurs, and leaders of social initiatives shared their experience in developing women-led businesses, adopting new technologies, and using resources effectively for regional development. Participants discussed opportunities for applying artificial intelligence and digital platforms to support female entrepreneurship, as well as successful cases of integrating national traditions with modern technology. The stories of rural women who achieved success in agribusiness and production highlighted the hard work and significance of Kazakh women in today’s socio-economic context.

Participants also visited the Smart Aqkol technology hub and the Republican Center for Space Communications, where they were introduced to state-of-the-art digital solutions, innovative infrastructure projects, and smart-city technologies that contribute to regional economic development and improved quality of life.

At the conclusion of the forum, participants stressed the need for systemic support for rural women, development of cooperative business models, assistance for export-oriented initiatives, and further improvement of public policy in this area.

The event in Akkol marked an important milestone in strengthening the potential and improving the well-being of rural women in Kazakhstan.
