Measures to Support Families and Protect the Rights of Women and Children Discussed in Kostanay Region
On 8–9 August, as part of a working visit to Kostanay Region, member of the National Commission on Women’s Affairs and Family and Demographic Policy under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Renat Zulkhairov, reviewed the work of key institutions providing support to families, mothers, and children.
During the visit, he toured Family Support Centers, family planning offices, the JastarMED Youth Health Center, and the Zhanuya family-type children’s village. Particular attention was given to issues of preserving youth reproductive health, preventing domestic violence, reducing early pregnancies, and strengthening the institution of the family.
Meetings were held with members of the regional commission, representatives of the Association of Business Women, the Mothers’ Council, officers from domestic violence prevention units, and specialists from institutions providing support to families and youth. Participants discussed priority areas of work in gender policy, the protection of women’s and children’s rights, as well as the implementation of measures to prevent family violence.
The working visit helped to strengthen interagency cooperation, facilitate the exchange of best practices, and develop joint solutions to pressing social issues.
