November 21, 2024, Astana
Members of the National Commission for Women Affairs, Family and Demographic Policy under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan took part in an event organized by the Women's Wing of the "AMANAT" Party. The international forum brought together over 150 women leaders from all regions of Kazakhstan, along with guests from Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Turkey, and Uzbekistan, to discuss advancing gender equality, protecting the rights of women and children, and strengthening family values.
Speaking at the event, National Commission member, Chair of the Women's Wing, and Party Secretary Sholpan Karinova highlighted the significant efforts being made to protect women’s interests and promote family values.
"Through projects such as 'Әйел аманаты' and 'Tomiris,' aimed at developing women's leadership, we unite women at the grassroots level within our party organizations, support their professional growth, enhance their potential, and encourage their participation in public and political life. By actively implementing the gender equality strategy, we create opportunities for women to fully participate in the life of our country. For instance, within the framework of the 'Tomiris' project, more than 100 women completed leadership development courses, which increased the share of women deputies in maslikhats to 30%," the speaker noted.
Sholpan Karinova also emphasized the importance of the inclusive "Equal Opportunities" sports festival for children, initiated by the Women's Wing across all regions of the country. The festival promotes the integration of children with special needs into society and enhances their social activity. Additionally, such events help foster a tolerant attitude toward people with disabilities.
The forum highlighted tangible achievements in protecting women's rights, expanding their economic opportunities, and addressing social issues. Participants outlined new priorities and tasks for the upcoming period.
