Legal and Psychological Assistance Provided to Inmates
On October 31, 2025, a special outreach event was held at Correctional Facility No. 57, under the Department of the Penal Correction System for the city of Almaty and Zhetysu Region. During the event, male inmates received humanitarian aid, as well as legal and psychological consultations.
This initiative represented an important step toward the social reintegration of inmates. Its main goal was to create conditions for personal development, spiritual growth, and improved legal awareness. As part of the event, 1,113 copies of fiction books were donated to the facility.
The event was organized within the framework of the “One Stop Service – Bir Qadam” project, implemented by the Human Rights Lawyers Public Foundation. The project aims to protect citizens’ rights, develop legal culture, and provide comprehensive support to socially vulnerable groups.
The initiative was carried out with the support of the National Commission for Women Affairs, Family and Demographic Policy under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Culture and Information, and the Commission for Women and Family-Demographic Policy under the Akimat of Almaty.
During the event, specialists provided legal consultations, conducted psychological sessions, and answered participants’ questions. The fiction and moral-ethical literature offered to inmates is expected to encourage reflection, personal growth, and the pursuit of new life goals.
Such initiatives go far beyond humanitarian aid — they play a vital role in social adaptation, restoring moral and spiritual values, and building inclusive communities. Collaboration between state institutions and civil society organizations continues to be an essential element in promoting social justice and human dignity in Kazakhstan.
