Kazakh Innovators Triumph in China: TechnoWomen Member and Astana IT University Student Team Win Gold on the International Stage

A team from Astana IT University, led by Zarina Kutpanova, a member of the non-profit organization "TechnoWomen" and co-leader of the "TechnoWomen Astana" chapter, captured gold at the international "Belt and Road" Entrepreneurship Competition held in Xi’an, China, from October 26 to November 2, 2024. The competition initially saw over 6,000 entries, with 579 projects from 14 countries making it to the finals, including teams from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Iran, UAE, Japan, New Zealand, the UK, India, Russia, and China.

Their project, "EnergyDrones AI," is an innovative web platform for diagnosing solar panels using drones and artificial intelligence, achieving an impressive 95% accuracy in fault detection through advanced neural networks such as KAN, CNN, and ResNet-8. This project highlights the significance of eco-friendly technologies and aligns with global trends in sustainable development and green technology.

This victory demonstrates the high level of training of Kazakh specialists and their capability to implement innovations on the global stage. "EnergyDrones AI" not only underscores the importance of clean technologies but also affirms Kazakh youth's readiness to tackle complex issues with cutting-edge solutions. Participation and success in a prestigious competition like "Belt and Road" open new opportunities for international collaboration and further project development in green technology.
