From November 25 to December 10, Kazakhstan joins the global campaign "16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence" held annually in more than 90 countries worldwide. The initiative aims to raise awareness of violence against women and girls and mobilize efforts to eliminate it entirely.
The campaign begins on the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and concludes on Human Rights Day, highlighting that women's rights are an inseparable part of universal human rights. As part of this campaign, the National Commission for Women Affairs, Family and Demographic Policy under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan is spearheading over 100 events nationwide. These include awareness campaigns, roundtable discussions, and expert forums aimed at increasing public understanding, developing prevention mechanisms, and supporting survivors.
This initiative serves as a crucial moment to renew commitments, demand accountability, and call for decisive actions from policymakers to eradicate gender-based violence. The campaign holds additional importance as the global community approaches the 30th anniversary of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action in 2025—a visionary framework for achieving gender equality and protecting the rights of women and girls worldwide.
