Senator and member of The National Commission on Women and Family led a Kazakhstani delegation to study the work of the UN Women Centre of Excellence for Gender Equality in Seoul

Senator and member of The National Commission on Women and Family, Demographic Policy under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Lyazzat Kaltayeva, led a Kazakhstani delegation to study the work of the UN Women Centre of Excellence for Gender Equality in Seoul, Republic of Korea.

The Centre is a unique intellectual hub in the Asia-Pacific region and operates in three main areas:

  1. Development of specialized training programs: The Centre actively develops and offers specialized training programs for various stakeholders, including government structures, academic circles, civil society organizations, and the private sector. These programs aim to increase awareness and competencies in gender equality and contribute to the development of inclusive and sustainable societies.
  2. Conducting research and maintaining gender statistics: The Centre engages in advanced research in the field of gender equality and collects gender statistics. This allows not only to assess the current state of gender equality in the region but also to develop effective strategies and policies for its improvement.
  3. Facilitating the development of multilateral partnerships: One of the key tasks of the Centre is to develop and strengthen partnerships at national and regional levels. The Centre actively promotes interaction between government organizations, the private sector, and civil society for joint efforts to address gender inequality issues.

Visiting the Centre of Excellence is part of Kazakhstan's ongoing efforts to improve the status of women and promote gender equality in the country and the region. The National Commission on Women and Family, Demographic Policy under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan continues to actively work on these important issues, relying on advanced international experience and cooperation with leading organizations.
