From August 20 to 22, an important monitoring mission took place in the Zhambyl Region. Representatives of the National Commission, local authorities, and NGOs reviewed the work of Family Support Centers and Youth Health Centers.
The first event within the monitoring framework was the official opening of a new Family Support Center in Talas district. The ceremony was attended by Nazipa Shanai, member of the National Commission for Women Affairs, Family and Demographic Policy under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The atmosphere combined both businesslike and celebratory elements: the new center is expected to provide assistance to families and offer young people vital advice and education.
Currently, six such centers operate in the region. Two are located in Taraz (regional and city-level), while the rest are spread across districts. By the end of the year, it is planned to open Family Support Centers in all districts of the region. This initiative aims to strengthen family values and make support accessible to every household, helping to prevent divorces and early marriages.
The monitoring continued in Baizak district and the city of Taraz, where center directors presented their reports, and experts provided recommendations for improving performance. “The establishment of these centers is of special importance. It is a step toward strengthening the family institution, reducing crisis situations, and expanding the participation of women and youth in public life,” noted members of the monitoring group.
On August 22, attention shifted to youth health. Together with Aizhan Esmagambetova, Deputy Akim of Zhambyl Region, Nazipa Shanai visited Youth Health Centers based at Taraz City Polyclinics №2 and №5, as well as at the “Almaz Medical Group” center.
These centers have become more than just places for medical care — they serve as spaces of trust and support for young people. Here, youth can receive medical consultations, talk to a psychologist, access information on disease prevention, and learn about healthy lifestyles.
“Comprehensive support for youth should not be limited to medicine alone. It must address psycho-emotional well-being and provide holistic assistance. Such centers play a vital role in shaping a culture of health among young people and unlocking their potential,” emphasized Nazipa Shanai, member of the National Commission.
The monitoring results showed that in Zhambyl Region a dual system is taking shape — simultaneously covering family support and youth health care. These projects are already producing positive results and are expected to become a model for replication across the country.
