Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Kazakhstan Hosts Seminar “Beijing +30: China–Kazakhstan Partnership for Women’s Empowerment”

At the invitation of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China, members of the National Commission for Women Affairs, Family and Demographic Policy under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan took part in the seminar. The Commission presented Kazakhstan’s experience and approaches in the field of gender policy.

The seminar opened with welcoming remarks by Gaukhar Nurakhmetova, Secretary of the National Commission, who emphasized that international dialogue and the exchange of best practices are especially important for strengthening national priorities in the area of women’s rights and opportunities.

Opening statements were also delivered by Han Chunlin, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Kazakhstan, and Ceren Güven Güres, Head of the UN Women Coordination Office in Central Asia and Country Representative in Kazakhstan. They highlighted that strategic cooperation between Kazakhstan and China in humanitarian and social spheres is developing dynamically and enriched with new initiatives.

Special attention was given to the 30th anniversary of the Beijing Declaration. Since joining the Declaration in 1995, Kazakhstan has consistently advanced gender equality and women’s empowerment. The National Commission plays a coordinating role in shaping and implementing state policy in this area.

In closing, the participants noted the successful results of three decades of Kazakhstan–China partnership, built on mutual respect, strategic trust, and shared commitment to promoting women’s rights. They expressed readiness to further strengthen cooperation and implement new joint initiatives.

The seminar was attended by representatives of the diplomatic corps, government bodies, international organizations, and the research and expert community.
